Rep. Upton presents flag to Edwardsburg state championship football team

EDWARDSBURG, Mich. Congressman Fred Upton stopped by Edwardsburg High School to present the state championship football team with a flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol.

The celebrations haven't stopped for a local state championship football team.

On Monday morning, Congressman Fred Upton stopped by Edwardsburg High School to present the young men with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol.

The Eddies won their first state crown last season.

"To have a flag that flew over the Capitol in honor of what they did, blood, sweat and tears, that's for sure, but we were all pulling for them in the state championship," Upton said.

"It's nice meeting somebody such as Fred who's able to show up with a flag and take a picture. It's just an awesome experience to have," said Noah Carrico, a senior at Edwardsburg High School.

Upton also spent time talking with the team about their college plans and who he's pulling for in the March Madness brackets.
