Pride Jr. hopes to take leadership to next level

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Today, Notre Dame football had its ninth practice of the spring.

One player who is taking this spring very seriously is cornerback Troy Pride Jr. He says he feels more put together and faster than in years past.

Pride is projected to be the number one corner on the depth chart after Julian Love's departure for the NFL Draft.

While the cornerback is focused on the development of his game, Pride also wants to improve in the leadership department.

"I'm just doing everything for my teammates," Pride said. "In the locker room, I'm just working. That's all I want to do. I love football the fact of the matter is when I am out there I want to play my best for my team. That's just what it is. Coach Lea is already instilling to us. I thought I was a worker before but he's really got me being a work horse. He's really got me being a leader doing so many little things I mean it's ramped up and that's what I want to continue to do."

Practice continues for Pride and the Irish on Saturday.
