Penn's Noah Applegate got a bucket underneath as time expired to lift the Kingsmen over Riley 63-61 in a matchup of two teams tied atop the NIC. Now, the Kingsmen control their own destiny in the conference.
It looked like Penn had this game in the bag. With under a minute to go, the Kingsmen led 59-54, and Applegate drove to the hoop for a layup to push their lead to seven.
But Riley came all the way back. Down 61-59 with just 20 seconds remaining, Jalen Jennings pokes the ball away from Penn's Drew Lutz and converts the turnover into a quick two to tie the game at 61 with just seconds remaining.
Those few ticks left though were just enough for the Kingsmen. Lutz lost the ball in the paint, but Applegate grabbed it, threw it off the glass and in as time expired to put the Kingsmen on top, 63-61.
