Notre Dame fell to Northwestern 13-10 in the second round the NCAA tournament to end the Irish bid at a national championship.

The Wildcats came right to play from the start, scoring the first eight goals of the game until Samantha Lynch for the Irish on the board with 9:07 remaining in the first half.

Notre Dame put up a second half surge cutting the deficit to three goals as Maddie Howe scored her third goal of the contest with 2:10 left to make it a 13-10 ball game.
