LOS ANGELES (WNDU) - The Irish finished their perfect regular season in a very much imperfect fashion on Saturday night defeating USC 24-17.
Notre Dame is now 12-0 for the first time since 2012. The Irish say Saturday night was one they'll never forget.
"It was amazing," Irish quarterback Ian Book said. "It's really hard to describe how it feels, honestly, but I'm just proud of everybody and our hard work has paid off. It's a night I'll definitely remember forever."
Despite achieving the undefeated milestone, Notre Dame isn't satisfied yet.
"All of that hard work has come to fruition it's all paid off," Irish center Sam Mustipher said. "Coming back right after the Citrus Bowl and getting right back to work. Not taking any time off or resting or saying, 'Oh we accomplished this last year.' I didn't come to Notre Dame to be 10-3 and I don't think the guys in that locker room did either. I know the coaches didn't so this is exciting but there is a lot left to be done."
Notre Dame will find out it's fate in the College Football Playoff this Sunday at Noon. The Irish will either play in Dallas or Miami.
