No.1 Notre Dame not taking No. 16 Bethune-Cookman lightly

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - March Madness might have already started all over the country but it begins tomorrow here in South Bend as the No.1 Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on No. 16 Bethune-Cookman.

The Irish hit the practice floor today to prepare for their match up with the Wildcats.

Despite it being a 1 vs. 16 match up, Notre Dame is not taking Bethune-Cookman lightly. The Wildcats clinched a bid in the NCAA tourney after winning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament.

Bethune-Cookman has been on a roll lately too. The Wildcats have won 12 of their last 14 games and are making their first NCAA Tournament in appearance in school history.

Muffet McGraw says there are similarities between Notre Dame and Bethune-Cookman, so the Irish better be ready to go tomorrow morning.

"They've went through what we went through last year," McGraw said. "They've had a ton of ACL injuries. They've kinda had to regroup as late as February, change some things up but still managed to come out and win their conference so I have a lot of respect for what they've done and accomplished. [It's their] first time in the NCAA tournament. I know they are excited and we're thrilled that they are coming here. They are a very good team. Angel Golden is a really good player averaging about 20 points per game. They've got three point shooters. They play hard and it's going to be a very good game for us."

Tip between the Irish and the Wildcats is tomorrow at 11 AM on ESPN 2.
