EDWARDSBURG, Mich. (WNDU) - The only high school football team left playing in Michiana is fighting for a state title.
The highly anticipated game is Friday night in Detroit, but the Edwardsburg Eddies didn't leave without a proper send-off. Parents, fans and community members rallied together Friday morning to show support for the team.
After a pep talk and some chants, the Eddies were escorted out of town by local law enforcement and headed to Ford Field in Detroit.
This is their second year in the state championship game, and after coming up short last year, they plan to win it all tonight.
This would be the school's first state championship in football, and that is the main goal. But another big perk is the opportunity to play in an NFL stadium.
