Kelly expects 'continuity' with coaching staff

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - When Notre Dame made it to the National Championship game in 2012, Brian Kelly was able to retain every single coach on his staff for the following season. This year, it looks as if Kelly will be to do the same.

Several Notre Dame coaches were rumored to be linked to some head coaching jobs across college football.

Offensive Coordinator Chip Long is a primary target to be the next head coach of the Louisville Cardinals while Special Teams Coach Brian Polian was rumored to be in the running for the head coaching job at Bowling Green.

Despite the interest, Kelly believes all of the coaches will be back with the team for next season.

"There's always inquiries for our guys but I'm pretty confident that our group right now is in a very good position and expect to have continuity as I stand in front of you right now," Kelly said.

Kelly is so confident about his staff returning he even tripled down on his statement that he expects them to stay in South Bend for 2019.
