The Irish are busy getting ready for their big College Football Playoff showdown with Clemson in the Cotton Bowl, but as December 29th creeps ever closer, the team also has a lot on its plate.
Bowl games are difficult to prepare for because there's so much time in between the game and when a team last played, but it's even harder when playing for a spot in the national championship.
That's the task Notre Dame head football coach Brian Kelly and the Irish are faced with.
There's over a month between Notre Dame's last game against USC and the Cotton Bowl, so Kelly has to balance resting his team and making sure they've recovered from a demanding regular season, with getting them ready for the biggest game of their lives.
He has to do that around the holidays and finals at Notre Dame, which will only further mentally drain the team.
Despite all those challenges, Kelly believes he has a plan in place that will get his squad playing their best football on December 29th.
"Preparation is key, right?" Kelly said. "I think we have a very good plan put together, bringing us right up to when we send them home and then get back together at the bowl site. I think we have a very good plan that will get them peaking at the right time."
#3 Notre Dame will take on #2 Clemson in the College Football Playoff semifinals at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on December 29th. Kickoff is scheduled for 4pm, and will air on ESPN.
