The Irish will have just three running backs available for the Citrus Bowl on Monday against LSU after one of their backups has been sent home.

Notre Dame confirmed Saturday morning that reserve running back Deon McIntosh was sent home on Thursday for a violation of team rules. He had been with the team in Orlando preparing for the Citrus Bowl.

McIntosh was 3rd on the team in rushing in 2017, compiling 368 yards on the ground and five touchdowns in the eight games he played in.

With CJ Holmes suspended indefinitely following a shoplifting arrest, Notre Dame will have just Josh Adams, Tony Jones and Dexter Williams available at running back on New Years Day.

Kickoff for Notre Dame and LSU is set for 1pm on Monday.
