Former Irish star Natalie Achonwa promotes the Fever's 20 Towns for 20 seasons tour

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Former Irish womens basketball player and current Indiana Fever star Natalie Achonwa was back in South Bend this morning to take photos and sign autographs for local fans.

This event was conducted as part of the Indiana Fever's 20 Towns for 20 seasons community tour where current players travel around the state of Indiana and some towns in Ohio to promote the 20th year of the franchise.

Achonwa helped Notre Dame clinch four consecutive Final Four appearances in her career wearing the Blue and Gold so it only makes sense that she came to South Bend to promote her WNBA team.

"South Bend and Notre Dame is really home for me so to be able to come back into the community that supported me for the four years I was here and try to carry them over to the WNBA and the Indiana Fever, it means everything," Achowa said. "Going into our 20th season for the Indiana Fever so I'm trying to bring some of my Notre Dame fans down to Indianapolis for us to start our season this summer."

The season starts for the former Irish star on June 1st when the Fever take on the New York Liberty in Indianapolis.
