SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - It's been a busy off-season for Notre Dame men's basketball coach Mike Brey.
Last week, Brey had his seventh annual Tip-off for Heart event at Purcell Pavilion...but before that Brey served as an analyst on CBS' pre and post game shows throughout the NCAA Tournament.
Brey is no stranger to the bright lights of TV. He's even been a guest on NewsCenter16's very own Countdown to Kickoff.
Brey says that there's nothing like being on TV and wouldn't rule out a career in broadcasting after he is done coaching.
"I love doing the TV cause you never lose a game," Brey said. "I watched 30 games and I was undefeated. I was 30-0. I was just coaching and making comments. And maybe that's something. I have done it every now and then you starting going, 'what do you do when this is over?' So maybe that would be something to stay around the game and do it. Working with a guy like Ernie Johnson who is a total pro was just unbelievable. It was fun and maybe down the road, that's a retirement gig."
But Coach Brey says retirement is the last thing on his mind right now. His main focus is getting his players healthy as well as hitting the recruiting trail for next season and beyond.
