SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - High school students often hear about college readiness, but on Thursday, South Bend students were groomed on the workforce.
The South Bend Community School Corporation held its 2nd annual Workforce Readiness Fair. It's a career and technical education, or CTE, event designed to give students more knowledge on college and various career pathways.
They were able to meet professionals and hear how CTE programs prepare you for postsecondary education.
"If you want to go to college, great, here's a way for you to tie what you like and your passion and your career into college," South Bend Schools CTE recruiter Tony Brooks said. "Or, if you want to go directly into a straight career and go into a business and find that connection, the dots are able to be connected here."
The Workforce Readiness Fair was done in partnership with the Indiana Parenting Institute of St. Joseph County.
