UPDATE: Three arrested for South Bend shooting

Three people have been arrested for a Monday night shooting in South Bend.

Three suspects were arrested after a traffic stop overnight Tuesday.


A woman is in stable condition after being shot Monday night.

The shooting happened around 11:40 p.m. in the 600 block of North Cushing Street.

According to dispatchers, police found a 24-year-old woman after being called to a report of shots fired. She was suffering from a serious gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

A 19-year-old woman suffered an ankle injury and was not shot. According to police, an argument with an unknown person happened before shots were fired.

No one has been arrested, but detectives are following up on several leads. The South Bend Police Dept. is handling the investigation.
