One person was taken to the hospital after a shooting in South Bend.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of West Kenwood and Freemont.

Police originally received a call about shots fired.

Police say multiple rounds were fired at the car.

The woman was slightly grazed in the head.

She was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One resident didn't want to be identified, but says gun shots in the neighborhood are a frequent occurrence.

"When it happens the first thing you think about is your family. Is a bullet going to come through the side of your house. You don't know what kind of gun they're using- machine gun it can be anything."

Police are currently looking for the suspects.

They were seen leaving the area in a dark colored vehicle.
