Police are investigating after a woman was hit by a car in South Bend Wednesday night.
It happened near Mishawaka Avenue and 36th around 9:30 p.m.
Officers say the woman, identified Thursday morning as 55-year-old Theresa Cook, was leaving Murphy's Backyard Bar and Grill when a Jeep hit her. She went to the hospital in critical condition.
The F.A.C.T. team says the driver didn't appear to be intoxicated or speeding, but the investigation is ongoing; and they say he cooperated at the scene.
Witnesses also told NewsCenter 16 the Jeep was traveling at a normal rate of speed. They say Cook lives near the bar.
The name of the driver has not been released but they did identify him as a 57-year-old man.
