WALKERTON, Ind. The Walkerton Lincoln Fire Territory received a new ambulance on Wednesday.
The $170,000 vehicle has four wheel drive.
A lighter aluminum interior should help with the fuel costs.
The suspension system boasts a smoother ride and better handling.
It has the latest safety features that came into effect on July 1.
Bob Severeid, EMS Chief Walkerton-Lincoln Fire Territory, said, “We are traveling distance over the county roads. In the winter time, it's going to give us the four wheel drive capability, which will be better on the roads.”
“Overall, it is upgrading what we had and getting up with the technology of today,” he added.
After a state inspection, officials hope to have it in service by Thursday morning.
