WSJM's Pat Moody stepping away from the morning microphone

After 46 years on the radio, a local icon is stepping away from the morning mic.

U.S. Rep. Fred Upton was one of the many people who stopped by WSJM to congratulate Pat Moody Friday. Michigan's great southwest will no longer start their days with "Moody in the Morning" show.

Now that he can finally sleep in a bit, he's got a few other things he wants to try.

"My wife insists that I go play pickleball with her because she discovered pickleball in the last couple of years and is loving doing that," Moody said. "So, I will probably do that a little bit just to appease her, but we will travel a little bit more."

Even with him gone, Moody's legacy will live on in the official Pat Moody Studios.

Don't worry, avid listeners. You can still hear him on WSJM. His popular will continue on.
