Up to two years for Flint to have clean water

FLINT, Mich. (AP) It could take another two years to end the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.

Mayor Karen Weaver wrote this week that the city won't be able to treat its drinking water until August 2019.

Flint's drinking water contained dangerous levels of lead after the city switched its water source three years ago.

But residents are not using tap water for cooking or drinking yet while the city works on a long-term water plan.
