Tracking a rain/snow mix Friday with gusty winds to end the week

Friday's forecast brings drastic change to the area as we cool down into the 30s with a strong wind chill and rain/snow mix.

TODAY:

Overall, a much cooler day. Winds still whipping through the area at 20+mph with gusts this morning up to 35mph. Winds remain strong for most of the day, dying down briefly tonight, then picking up in intensity once more Saturday.

Highs top out in the low 40s this afternoon with a chance of snow showers on the radar.

Slushy mix likely with rain/snow on the radar by 10AM. Looks like ½” is possible, but with wet surfaces and temperatures hovering above freezing, it’ll likely all melt. Slick roads a concern for Saturday morning.

TONIGHT:

Lows in the mid to upper 20s with a brisk feel to the air. Back to winter basics!

THIS WEEKEND—

SATURDAY:

Partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of lake effect snow. Highs in the mid to upper 30s. A chilly start to the weekend.

SUNDAY:

A bit warmer as highs approach the low to mid 40s. Partly cloudy skies with an additional chance of lake effect snow. Very little accumulation, overall.
