Toll road exit 83 to close Tuesday for visit from US Secretary of Transportation

Indiana Toll Road exit 83 to Mishawaka will close Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a press conference following a roundtable on infrastructure.

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao will be joined by Indiana officials to discuss the 80/90 PUSH construction project.

Senator Todd Young, Governor Eric Holcomb, and Representatives Pete Visclosky and Jackie Walorski will attend along with other officials for the roundtable.

That will be followed by a meeting discussing plans for the South Shore line. Federal funding is being sought to help pay for plans including a $290 million project to add a second track between Gary and Michigan City.
