South Bend St. Joseph High School teamed up with a music legend to help bring instruments to kids who can't afford them.

The school partnered with Hungry for Music and Todd Rundgren's Spirit of Harmony Foundation to collect used instruments to donate.

Rundgren, who's known for hits like "Hello It's Me" and "I Saw the Light," stopped by the school on Friday afternoon.

Rundgren said, "People have always felt that music is a good thing, but it too often gets cut or underfunded in an age when schools are not getting the support that they used to get. So, we're hoping to reverse that trend."

The drive is part of Rundgren's visit to Notre Dame.

He performed at the pep rally on Friday night.
