OSHTEMO TWP., Mich. (WNDU) - Three people died late Sunday night when the car they were riding in was hit by an Amtrak train near Kalamazoo.
The crash happened at the 11th Street crossing near KL Avenue in Oshtemo Township. According to Michigan State Police, the westbound train hit the northbound car.
The three victims died at the scene. Police are working to notify their families before releasing their names. No one on the train was injured.
The train was headed to Chicago. The accident remains under investigation.
