THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WNDU) – Three Rivers Police say that the three children they announced were missing Thursday afternoon have been found safe.

The three children are 6-year-old Nehemiah Sweet, 5-year-old Benjamin Sweet and 2-year-old Mila Sweet. The Three Rivers Police Department posted to Facebook asking for the public's help finding the children Thursday.

Thursday night, the siblings were found safe in Calhoun County, where they were turned over to Child Protective Services.

Thirty-two-year-olds Audra Sue Sweet and Adam Wayne Sweet, the children's parents, lost custody of the kids "several" days ago, according to police.

The parents took the siblings out of school in violation of a court order. Police also say that family and friends lied about the family's whereabouts.
