Suspect in deadly South Bend hit-and-run appears in court

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - One of the two suspects accused in a deadly hit-and-run in South Bend made a court appearance Thursday.

Nineteen-year-old Ashlee Nicely is accused of hitting a bicyclist on Brick Road last October. Also allegedly in the car was 22-year-old Carlos Williams.

The couple allegedly took off, and the victim, 61-year-old Ishayaa Diya, died at scene.

Both Nicely and Williams have pleaded not guilty.

In court Thursday, Nicely's status conference was continued to April 16. Meanwhile, Williams will be back in court on March 20.
