An Irish legend returns to campus to take in the season opener and to promote kindness. Super Bowl champion Justin Tuck and author Marie Unanue are getting the word out about the #LetsAllBeKind campaign. Unanue wrote the children's book,
which addresses treating people with respect and standing up to bullies.
"Justin (and his wife) have a wonderful literacy campaign that’s all about the importance of children getting books, reading books, and I wrote a book about kindness. It just seemed great to partner up to sell books," said Unanue.
Tuck, the former Irish and New York Giants defensive end, said the kindness campaign is crucial.
"It’s something I think is very needed in today’s landscape, especially when you talk about the negativity and the bullying that you see on social media websites, so the opportunity to put out something positive is something me and my wife have been trying our best to be champions for our entire life," said Tuck.
He and Unanue will be signing books inside the campus bookstore lobby Saturday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. All of the proceeds go to Notre Dame financial aid.
