Typically, by the end of the day, letter carriers have much lighter bags once the mail is delivered.
But when you're a part of the biggest food drive in America, expect to carry a little more weight.
Saturday, letter carriers were asking people to leave non-perishable food items next to their mailboxes for the 24th annual ‘Stamp Out Hunger’ Food Drive.
About 10,000 communities around the country take part in the event.
Last year, the food drive collected over 71 million pounds of food which is enough to feed 30 million people.
So far this year, Stamp Out Hunger has collected over 77,000 pounds of food.
