ROYALTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WNDU) - A national leader in the rubber industry that calls Michiana home plans to build a new $8.3 million facility.

Vail Rubber, which has been in St. Joseph since 1920, says the company has outgrown its current place downtown. So, they plan to build a new 68,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Royalton Township.

The town's board approved a 12-year tax abatement for their new building, according to our reporting partners at The Herald-Palladium.

Construction is set to begin in April and be done by March of 2020.
