UPDATE: Police identify man critically hurt in South Bend apartment shooting

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- One man was hurt in a shooting in the 3700 block of North Curtiss Drive, and the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Landers N. King-Slisz, of South Bend.

The shooting happened at Beacon Heights Apartments, where police were called at 9:55 p.m. Sunday.

King-Slisz was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds in the upper body. He remained in critical condition as of a Metro Homicide press release Monday afternoon.

King-Slisz does not live in Beacon Heights Apartments, police said.

As of Sunday night, officials did not have any witnesses or leads on a suspect, and Monday afternoon's release did not provide an update on the investigation.
