SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - March is National Reading Month, and it's also the month of Dr. Seuss' birthday celebration.

To mark the occasion, the Progress Club of South Bend decided to collect Dr. Seuss books and donate them to a kindergarten classroom at Darden Elementary School. They say it's great to give back to local school kids.

"It's just great to volunteer your time and talent and to see the joy and excitement on the kids wherever we go. It's a wonderful feeling," Progress Club member Cindy Streich said.

The Progress Club was established in 1995 by a group of women who wanted to dedicate their time to volunteering in the community.
