ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - Hubbard Hill offered a look inside its ongoing construction of a new campus along State Road 19 that will serve seniors with dementia and Alzheimer's.
The campus is created to make its residents feel like they are part of a neighborhood, giving them the independence to step outside and enjoy a patio, gardening and more.
Four different homes inside the structure will each house nine residents and will contain a living and dining room.
“We really have worked diligently at designing an environment and a program that will give people value and purpose and the ability to feel like they belong to a bigger community,” said Debbie Carriveau, executive director of the memory care center.
Hubbard Hill hopes other memory care facilities across the country will be inspired by their new campus and consider this kind of innovation.
