Slain Berrien County Courthouse bailiffs Ron Kienzle and Joseph Zangaro will be honored by the Detroit Tigers during Wednesday evening's game.

“I want to applaud the Detroit Tigers organization for their solemn recognition of Ron Kienzle, Joseph Zangaro, and other fallen Michigan officers," U.S. Rep. Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) said in a release. "The heartbreaking tragedy in Berrien County occurred in the blink of an eye, but we will never forget. We must continue to keep those affected in our hearts and always remember the ultimate sacrifice Ron, Joe, and others have made on our behalf.”

Kienzle and Zangaro will be honored alongside five other Michigan officers killed in the line of duty last year.

The Tigers play the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday.

There will be a special Michigan State Police flyover prior to first pitch, and Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Ten dollars from each ticket sold will be donated to the fund for the National Law Enforcement Museum, which is currently under construction in Washington, D.C.
