Semi carrying hazardous material overturns on Toll Road

A semi carrying hazardous material rolled over on the Indiana Toll Road Tuesday, stopping traffic.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 54 at around 4:40 a.m.

The LaPorte Country Fire department, along with their hazmat team responded to the scene.

Luckily there was no fire and the driver didn't need medical attention.

Police say the semi was hauling cigarette lighters.

Both eastbound lanes were closed as crews worked to clean it up.
