ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - Saturday marks the first of four free fishing days this year in Indiana.
On free fishing days, Indiana residents can fish on public waters without a fishing license.
Locally, a women's learn-to-fish workshop will be held at St. Patrick's County Park in South Bend from 9 a.m.-noon.
The next free fishing day will be held May 18.
And speaking of fishing, one local man caught a giant northern pike. You can see just how big it was in the photo above.
Miles Osler caught that scary-looking thing in the Elkhart River by the police station. His sister, Lissa Blair, sent us the photo.
Blair says Miles catches large fish frequently because he knows all the algorithms to catch each type of fish. That's not hard to believe after taking a look at the pike he reeled in.
