Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb's trip to Michiana Thursday paid off big for the State Road 933 Coalition.
A big check backed up the pledge the governor made last week to
to a recreational trail project.
The trail will run along the west side of State Road 933 between Angela Boulevard and Douglas Road and will mark the first of several planned improvements there.
"When you think about the number of people that actually come off the Toll Road and enter our community and the number of people that drive down this stretch, it has an opportunity for improvement, and that could be in lighting, that could be in landscaping, it could be in intersection enhancements," said Tim Sexton with the 933 Corridor Improvement Association. "Those types of things are things that I think will be on our radar going forward."
The trail will pass through property owned by Holy Cross College, Saint Mary's College and the University of Notre Dame.
