SB mayoral candidate faces further charges in Starke Co.

STARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - South Bend mayoral candidate Will Smith is now facing two new charges in Starke County, including auto theft.

The Starke County charges come on top of the charges in Miami County NewsCenter 16 told you about last week. The 32-year-old was arrested at his South Bend home last week.

He is accused of stealing both his repossessed SUV and a travel trailer.

Surveillance video at RV dynasty in Miami County from late January reportedly captured a black SUV pulling the trailer off the lot. That SUV was stolen from a lot in Knox, then found at Smith's home in South Bend.

Now, the Starke County Prosecutor's Office formally filed charges against Smith for auto theft and issued a warrant for his arrest.
