The Indiana Tourism Council has awarded $250,000 to the South Bend Chocolate Company, which plans to create a $1.7 million resortlike atmosphere.
The company intends to construct a new factory that creates a year-round, one-of-a-kind attraction. The project includes a chocolate experience area, a dinosaur museum, a visitor's center and a gift shop.
Plans also include multiple hotels, a farm-to-fork restaurant and a winery.
Meanwhile, the city of La Porte was also awarded $220,000 to complete the Dunes Event Center.
