Police investigating after 15-year-old injured in South Bend shooting

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) -- A 15-year-old was shot and injured in South Bend on Sunday.

Police say the shooting happened near Huron and Meade around 5:45 p.m.

The victim then went to the 2500 block of West Western Avenue to get help, and called police.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Police say he suffered gunshot wounds to the lower body.

Officers found a vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting. It was crashed in the 900 block of Ewing.

South Bend Police are still investigating.
