Woman shot multiple times in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - South Bend police are investigating a shooting in the 3600 block of S. High Street, after a woman was shot multiple times, just after 5:15 Sunday morning.

Police told NewsCenter 16 a 19-year-old woman was inside a Miami Hills Apartment, when they believe the shooter went up to the window and shot the gun.

The female victim was taken to a hospital with potentially life threatening injuries.

At the time, the woman the only person in the room, but not the only one in the apartment, police said.

Officers don't think the shooting was random, they aren't sure if the woman was the intended target.

No word on the female victim's condition at this time.
