GOSHEN, Ind. (WNDU) – The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department investigated Thursday afternoon after a bomb threat was emailed to the Elkhart County Administration Building in Goshen.
The email said "a bomb would detonate inside of the building," according to a release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.
The threat led to an evacuation of employees. Deputies and an Indiana State Police K-9 unit searched the building for suspicious packages and possible devices, but they did not discover anything suspicious.
The sheriff's office reminded the public that false reports about explosive devices are illegal. The Level 6 felony is punishable by up to 2 ½ years in prison.
