MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -- Police rescued a 6-year-old child from a very disturbing situation in Michigan.

Police responded to a home in Mt. Morris Township, just north of Flint, after receiving a call from someone in Tennessee. Inside they found a couple -- one was dead and the other unconscious.

Their 6-year-old child was also in the home. Mt. Morris Township Police Chief Terence Green said the child may have been alone with dead and unconscious parents for "at least a day" or so.

Police learned of the situation after the 6-year-old got on Facebook and reached out to a person in Tennessee who ended up calling police.

The medical examiner is currently investigating the cause of the one parent's death. The other parent is at the hospital.
