A lot of people will have full bellies this Thanksgiving thanks to the Pokagon Band of Potawatami Indians.

Cars were lined up around the block for several hours before food was handed out Tuesday at the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.

More than 30 volunteers were on hand giving out turkeys, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and all the trimmings.

The Pokagon Band says giving back to the community is the right thing to do, and the need is great.

“We're going to feed over a thousand people in the region,” said Scott Brewer, vice president of Four Winds Casino and Resort. “We kind of split up our donations between St. Joe County, the Northern Indiana Food Bank; we've done stuff in Berrien County, Cass County, Elkhart, Laporte County I don't know the real need but it seems kind of obvious."

330 food baskets were distributed in South Bend alone, compliments of Four Winds.
