People ride through Mishawaka for inaugural 'Ride for Autism' fundraiser

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The first ever 'Michiana Ride for Autism' made its way through Mishawaka Sunday.

Hundreds rode motorcycles from Lighthouse Autism Center to R.B.I.'s Sports Bar and Grill to benefit the fundraiser.

The goal was to raise money and spread awareness for children with autism.

Lighthouse Autism Center's co-founder was amazed to see so many people come to support those with autism – just like her own son.

"We were blessed to be helped by a lot of families when we were looking for services, so we kind of like to pay it forward," said Sandy Maggioli.

All proceeds went to the Lighthouse Family First Foundation, which supports families that have children with autism. To learn more, click here.
