Niemann-Pick disease hits close to home for the Notre Dame community where research has long been underway in search of a cure.

After losing three of his four grandchildren to Niemann-Pick, former Notre Dame football coach Ara Parseghian vowed to fight the deadly disease that took his grandchildren.
