PREVIEW: Things Your Teen Won't Tell You

Regardless the generation, the teenage years are times of transition. Adolescents strive for independence and try to figure out who they are in relation to their goals -- and interests. Yet, teens of 2018 face different challenges compared to their older siblings and parents.
"Things Your Teen Won't Tell You" is a NewsCenter 16 Original Series featuring local teens who discuss why it is difficult to talk to their parents. The goal is to bridge the gap of understanding between the generations.
"With our parents, they are adults, and they have been through, like, so many more really hard things in their life, and they sometimes forget that, like, we haven't been through that yet, so when we're, like, experiencing a crisis or something, like, it's probably the worst thing we've been through this far," says a South Bend teen.
The dozen high school students also will discuss the pressures of social media, drugs, alcohol, gun access, bullying, and mental health.
The five-part series, "Things Your Teen Won't Tell You" begins Monday, February 5 on NewsCenter 16 at 6.
