UPDATE: 20-year-old suffers hip wound in Friday morning 'accidental' shooting

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - One person was injured in what police are calling an accidental Friday morning shooting in South Bend.

The shooting happened at around 7:57 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Scott Street, near Dubail Avenue. A 20-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the hip and is in stable condition at the hospital, according to a release from the South Bend Police Department.

Police say the investigated for eight hours, conducting interviews and sifting through evidence, before concluding the shooting was accidental. No arrest has been made.
