UPDATE: Woman injured in Wednesday morning shooting in South Bend


SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A 27-year-old woman was injured in a shooting on South Bend's southwest side early Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Ewing Avenue near Brookfield Street. According to St. Joseph County dispatchers, the victim walked into the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim was at home when a man she knows knocked on the door. The victim wouldn't let him in, and shots were fired, according to police. The victim was then hit.

The suspect is described as a “black male with a skinny build."
