A 12-year-old boy was injured Monday evening when the buggy he was in crashed with a semi.

The crash happened at around 7 p.m. on U.S. 20 at 300 East. According to police, the 12-year-old boy who was driving a horse and buggy didn't stop for a stop sign.

The semi was unable to avoid the crash and hit the horse. The crash also caused the buggy to rollover. The 12-year-old was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

A 7-year-old girl was also riding in the buggy. She was released to family at the scene. The driver of the semi refused treatment.
