UPDATE: Officer, tow truck driver injured in crashes on U.S. 20 Bypass

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - A St. Joseph County Police Officer and tow truck driver were injured in separate crashes Sunday night on the U.S. 20 Bypass.

The accidents happened at around 9:30 p.m. near the Elm Road exit. Corporal Briana Glueckert, 28, was in her marked patrol car helping a vehicle that had hit the concrete median.

Robert Cobb, 59, of Elkhart, hit Cpl. Glueckert's patrol car with his vehicle. Cobb was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Cpl. Glueckert was taken to the hospital for shoulder pain.

A tow truck driver with City-Wide Towing was hit while assisting the officer. The driver, Jeff Porter, 37, was standing on the Bypass when he was hit.

Porter was taken to the hospital for a complaint of leg pain. The slick conditions likely played a role in both crashes.

As a result of these crashes, police want to remind you to move over for law enforcement and slow down.
