PLYMOUTH, Ind. (WNDU) --- Officials are investigating a home explosion in Marshall County.

The explosion happened just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday evening in the 16000 block of Cook Lake Trail in Plymouth.

According to The Pilot News, Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller said neighbors heard a loud cracking sound shortly before the home exploded. That information lead investigators to believe lightning caused the explosion.

According to fire officials, debris was scattered everywhere -- including in the lake.

The owners were renovating, but they were not home at the time of the explosion.

No one was injured.
